Welcome

I'm going to relate the lessons I've learned from my students in my health classroom through stories I have from our class discussions, assignments, and interactions. Feel free to share some of your own "lessons learned" through the lessons you've taught your students. If you're not in education, perhaps you can relate lessons you have learned from children at some point in your life. Look forward to sharing stories!

Cost of a Baby?

Today, we also discussed the cost of raising a baby for the first year of it's life. Students had to use an online calculator to figure out how much they would spend on individual items the baby would need. I told them I woud give them the amount it would cost for insurance and health care.

Billy pipes up in reference to the insurance costs, "I'm a gold member at the adoption agency so I won't have to worry about that expense!"

  1. I remember having to do this in high school! It was eye opening and really made us see the realities of children. We also had to have the baby that cried. LOL
